Merry Crate is a company that has launched an internet portal and app for the sale and commercialization of natural, organic, fresh and preferably homemade products.
This portal/app business model is based on a sharing economy. Merry Crate sources proven and certified suppliers to ensure all products stick to the Green, Good & Real philosophy.

Every item that Merry Crate sells improves the health and well-being of customers because they have only green, good & real ingredients. Each product’s ingredients must be healthy. They must be made with organic and/or non-toxic ingredients (see the list of ingredients not allowed by Merry Makers). Chemical and other mainstream ingredients are simply unacceptable. Merry Crate takes this promise seriously. Anything less would compromise the company’s Green, Good & Real promise.
A Merry Maker is a producer; the person who makes or “homemakes” a product offered by Merry Crate on the website or App. Just like friends and family, we make sure our producers feel the love. We work with them to ensure all parties are aware of and committed to product quality and, consequently, client satisfaction.
Merry Crate is a broker, not an owner of products or of the Makers.

Merry Makers may have visits from the Merry Crate staff in order to conduct internal audits while they are preparing their products. They must be aware and in agreement. The improper use of ingredients, modification of recipes or ingredients, omission of nutritional information, deceiving, hiding and so on, is punished with the Maker’s exit and a fine.
Yes, it is. We have a Secure Portal for all of our transactions. We don’t store any card information and we don’t share your information with anybody.

We have three options:
1.- In all of our products we have a free pickup option, when you can stop by the Merry Maker’s place and pick you order.
2.- Also, the Merry Maker can deliver his product some miles around his production place. You will see this information under the product’s description. Look for the zip codes where the Merry Maker offers free local delivery.
3.- For some products we can offer nationwide shipping (for the Food Establishment and Non-food Establishment). We use USPS priority mail for shipping.
We offer free shipping in the case when the Merry Maker can deliver his product some miles around his production place. If you choose for a Nationwide Shipping service, Merry Crate will charge you the rate that USPS offers to all the customers.
You can shop by zipcode. Also, in every product on our platforms you will be able to see in which zipcode the product is offered.
Some Merry Makers deliver some miles around their place of production. Not all of them. So, you will be able to see this information in the description of the product.

No. We have basically, two different entities of Merry Makers:
1.- Food Establishment and Non-food Establishment
– They have a legal entity & permissions to prepare food/products and sell it everywhere
– They can use a 3PL service to deliver
Product can be shipped locally or nationwide
– Complete payments collected by Merry Crate’s website.
– Merry Maker needs PayPal account
2.- Food Cottage Operations
– Minimum requirements for tax and income declaration
– Maximum of sales per year ($50k annual sales)
– Limited to some products (check list in Food Cottage Law, TX)
– No need of permissions, only the Food Handlers’ Card (paid for by Merry Crate)
– Merry Crate can charge a payment in advance thru the website
– The rest of the payment should be paid face-to-face (Merry Maker chooses the method: cash, check, credit/debit card)
– Delivery face-to-face within the radius of miles you choose or by picking up at Merry Maker’s place
– Packaging by the maker
Yes, there is a marketing agreement that we can review together once the Merry Maker has complete the initial form.
Packaging material is the responsibility of each Merry Maker, although Merry Crate can offer guidance and suggestions. Pricing is the responsibility of each Maker, although Merry Crate can also offer guidance.
The products should have labels, according to the FDA or other regulations that apply (we can give you an example). The use of a logo is recommended. Merry Makers may publish their logo and name on Merry Crate’s website.
While they cannot sell to Merry Crate customers directly, outside of the web portal, they may sell through other portals. There is no exclusivity.
We use USPS services. We will email you the USPS label. You will have to print it and tape it. That’s it! You won’t have to pay anything when dropping of your package in the mail office.
It is completely free to sell on Merry Crate. There is no limit of products listed.
You will need a PayPal account.
For Food Establishment and Non-food Establishment, we collect taxes and pay them to the State, when applies.
For Food Cottage Operations, we cannot collect taxes, so the Merry Makers are responsible to do that.
Merry Crate is responsible for all the credit card fees from transactions.
All Merry Makers must have general liability insurance and must have Merry Crate on their list of insured parties.
After each transaction, PayPal takes about 5 business days to transfer the money to the Merry Maker (applies to Food Establishment and Non-food Establishment).
Yes. If a customer receives a product damaged, in bad conditions or without the expected quality, the Makers agree to reimburse the payment immediately to Merry Crate. Merry Crate will reimbursed the payment to the customer.
The Merry Makers agree to deliver the products the next day after the purchased order is placed. If the order is placed after 5:00 PM CST, it will be considered as placed the next day and therefore the delivery date will be the next day after is considered as placed.
In the case of the Food Cottage Operations, in order to define the exact delivery time, the Merry Maker will contact the customer via email, text or telephone conversation in order to agree on the time.
In the case of using USPS, the time of delivery to USPS will be as mentioned before: products should be deliver to USPS office the next day after the purchased order is placed .
The only exception to the next day delivery rule is when the time to prepare the product takes longer than one day, in which case, the Maker will inform to the client and will deliver the next day after the product is finished.

Kalyan has over 15 years’ experience in information technology consulting, product development and general management roles. He has worked in the technology domains of supply chain management, finance and GRC (governance, risk & compliance). He has served in consulting and management roles at Johnson & Johnson, Hitachi Consulting & Oracle Corporation. Kalyan has a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from RVCE (Bangalore) and earned a MBA degree from Syracuse University, New York – Whitman School of Management, where he was the Salzberg scholar. He also completed CPIM and APP certifications. He is a currently involved as a co-founder of Mainstay Tech, small Technology Company.
Kalyan likes reading and running. He has run close to a dozen half-marathons and completing a full marathon is on top of his bucket list. In his leisure hours, he likes watching movies.

He started his career in a start-up (LogicalApps) that was acquired by Oracle Corp. He then worked for a number of years at Oracle, adopting new technologies at every stage. After Oracle, he worked as a stock market technical analyst for a couple of years. He is currently working in a technology leadership role in Software start-up. He believes that the best way to learn something is to get your hands dirty. Bhaskar has lived in Bangalore and Hyderabad in India and likes traveling to new places. In his free time, he likes watching movies in Telugu (a vernacular Indian language) and playing cricket (a sport known to Americans as “Baseball on Valium”).

Dharmendra Kumar Gaddibhukta who also goes by the moniker “Kumar” is a software architect and a native of Vizag, a large port town and naval base in South India. He studied to complete an undergraduate degree in Sciences and graduate degree in Engineering Chemistry from Andhra University. But realized that his interest and career calling was software programming and not burettes and pipettes. He, currently, heads the technology function at a group company of Pennar Group, India. Kumar has worked in leadership roles in technology companies like Oracle and Hitachi. Kumar’s leadership mantra is to lead by example – he never asks his team member to do something that he himself is not willing to do. In his free time, he likes to take his wife and two kids to parks and greenery. He has been a vegetarian for 15 years and likes going out for long walks.

It is amazing how Jag has the ability to combine sharp mobile technology and API expertise with strategic leadership to conceive and develop high-powered, transformational product solutions, just like Merry Crate! That’s why Jag really likes and enjoys Merry Crate and all the challenges around the project.
Jag is innovative, tech savvy and entrepreneurial. What inspires him is to learn something new everyday and contribute with something meaningful to the world. One of his goals is to live a healthy stress-free life and create the same for his family and friends.

Aideé is one of Merry Crate’s founders and she stared with this business idea at the beginning of 2015. She is a living testimony. After surviving cancer, she decided to actively share from her experience and create awareness about how eating all natural organic products allows for a happier life away from harmful ingredients and their negative effects on the body.
Aideé studied a BA in Business Administration, a master’s degree in Education and Communication, and recently she was certified as a health coach. She has directed the operation of international projects and became an entrepreneur in 2010 for the first time, when a friend invited her to join him in founding the most important network of daycares centers in Mexico and Colombia: ADVENIO Corporate Daycare. After this entrepreneurship and once she was recovered from her cancer she was ready to startup something new, different and, why not, crazy!
